90 MPH Winds Tear Roof Off Engine House - We Need Your Help!

(UPDATE 3-13-2010) Thank you for all the donations! While we have raised nearly three hundred dollars for supplies, we still need more! On Saturday March 27th we will be having a workday to repair the damage. All are welcome to attend and help and lunch will be included.

Thank you to those that have given. For those that would like to give, please use the link below.

Portland Maine experienced 90 mile per hour winds over the weekend of February 26 to 28. These fierce winds peeled the new plastic covering and numerous 4 by 8 foot sub roof panels off the MNGRR engine house exposing three locomotives to the elements.

We need your help to purchase materials to temporarily patch the roof and protect Monson locomotive 4 and Bridgton & Saco River locomotives 7 and 8. This is our slow season and we have no money. Our last significant earning opportunity was Polar Express which ended in December of 2009. Our summer earning season is still several months off. Please help! We have volunteers ready to work - all they need is materials.

Send your checks to:
Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Co. & Museum
58 Fore Street
Portland, Maine 04101
(Please write Engine House On Your Check)

Or go to our contribution page http://www.mngrr.org/donate.html and put engine house in the memo section.
